SPECIAL OLYMPICS SELANGOR
SPECIAL OLYMPICS SELANGOR was formed on 23rd June 2001 by a group of volunteers comprising individuals and service providers.
We are registered as a sports organisation with Registration No 3315/2009 under Akta Perbangunan Sukan 1997 Peraturan-peraturan Pembangunan Sukan (Pemdaftaran Badan Sukan) 1998 (Perauran 6) on the 10th September 2009.
We are a non-profit state program of sports training and athletic competition for persons with intellectual disabilities.
What is Special Olympic ?
is a non-profit international program of sports training and athletic competition for persons with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics International is the world’s largest amateur sports with more than one million athletes in over 150 countries and the only organisation authorized by the International Olympic Committee to use “Olympics” worldwide.
is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship, other SO athletes and the community.
is to help persons with ID to develop their potential and to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities.

Enjoy year round free coaching for sports of Athletics, Bocce, Bowling and Football and participate in States and National competitions and a chance to represent the State in National Games organised by Special Olympics Malaysia and Olympic Games organised by Special Olympics.
